Cover Letter: Theatre 2026

Graduating from York St John University in 2025, I have always been interested in the power of the arts. Ranging from theatre to screen and live music, I have been proud of every project that I have worked on, and always made sure it reaches the correct audience who need to hear it. I work with truth and kindness, valuing every voice in every process. 

After graduating, I aim to start my own theatre company with colleagues from York St John. The projects that we created together during the degree were all important in their own way, and after understanding the hard work, research and hours that go into the process, I would like to continue making that work for a wider audience to witness. I would use a variety of skills that I have learnt from past developments, such as communication, budgeting, marketing and planning to create an environment where we can all meet up and create something that an audience would want to watch.

After speaking with the staff at York Theatre Royal, I am also intrigued by the idea of facilitating workshops, either to present at Theatre Royal or other venues. Collaboration only works with honest communication, and I believe I have acquired  this skill over the past 3 years of my study.
